Ask any teacher, anywhere, and they’ll tell you that teaching has its ups and downs, like any other job. Some days they may go into the classroom and become aggravated by their student’s unruly behavior. Then there are other times, when they may experience a profound moment of insight that actually teaches them a lesson. Of course, to properly learn a lesson takes great humility on the part of the teacher, and if they are willing to listen, they may learn a thing or two from their students. That was the case with a teacher who became a bit frustrated with the answers she received in class one day. In the end, we’re reminded of how hilariously practical kids can be.
Teacher: “If I gave you two cats and another two cats and then another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven!”
Teacher: “No no, listen carefully… If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven.”
Gets frustrated
The teacher rubs her temples and takes a deep breath.
Teacher: “Come on Johnny, you’re better than this. Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Six.”
Teacher: “Good. Now, if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and then another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven!”
Teacher: “Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!?”
Johnny: “Because I’ve already got a freaking cat!”
