I grew up in a village and that is where I learned a little bit about animals breeding. That’s where I learned that a mule is the product of a horse and a donkey. It always seemed strange to me that animals that are different from one another, can breed and actually have babies together. But after reading this story, now I am totally convinced about it. Have you ever heard of a liger? It is the combination of a tiger and a lion. That’s right. It was the first time for me too.
A white tiger, not Siberian one, but rather Bengali Tiger is a very rare animal and it is estimated that only 1,200 of them are in the world today. And the same applies when it comes to white lions that are even rarer and environmentalists are doing all they can to preserve these animals to keep them from extinction. As far as white lions, it is estimated that nearly 300 of them are in total right now. With these small numbers, what in the world are the odds that a white lion and a white tiger fall in love and have babies together?
While there are almost 1,000 ligers in the world today, there are only four ligers that came as a result of a white male lion and a white female tiger, breeding together. The T.I.G.E.R sanctuary is taking care of these ligers and they are expected to turn so beautiful when they grow up. This is one of the rarest odds and the product is four unique creatures that never existed before. See for yourself from the photos below.
